Are You Living Or Is Life Passing You By

Good Morning,

Over the last few days, I have more than ever come to realize how important it is to truly live and enjoy life. Not saying that I didn't know how important it was before but in a sense that no matter what situations or circumstances we face we must go out and live! We can't let what is facing us stop us from enjoying life. Life is short and a precious gift that was given to us and God wants us to embrace every moment of it. We can't keeping giving our power to the devil and letting him have control over our minds, emotions, etc. We have to stand tall and fight back! We can never let the devil allow us to be an emotional mess. That's how he wins every time! Yes, there are days were you may not know how you're gonna make it to the next. But thank God you're still alive and breathing and still working and walking towards your purpose in life. Our lives are meant to be filled with joy, happiness, and peace, not with frustration, anger, and sadness. No one said it would be easy but everything that has happen would be worth it. It is important that we see the good in everything. It is important to appreciate the small and simple things in life.

Every minute of our lives we have to enjoy and embrace it. If we don't life will just pass us by. The good, bad, and ugly times are all meant to teach us something. During these times we learn about ourselves and other people but also these times are meant for us to become stronger, to become wiser, to grow. We can't give in and become defeated and let the devil keep us hostage. No, we have to break free and not live in misery. Like the song says, TROUBLE DON'T LAST ALWAYS!!! We have a choice to either be happy or be miserable. We can choose to be down and give up or we can choose to get in agreement with God and put our FAITH into ACTION and believe in his word. Yes, we will have our moments of feeling overwhelmed but we can't stay there and play right into the devil's game. It's time for us to fight back and not play into the game that the devil is playing. So I ask you, Are you living or is life passing you by?

To Be Irreplaceable One Must Be Different

Good Morning,

Just like any girl, I'm a lover of fashion! From the clothes to the shoes, purses, jewelry I love it all! Now, I am not a skinny minnie over here (lol) but do wear a size 14 and proud of it. Though I've never been into the brand name of fashion. I am a sucker for Forever 21, Wet Seal (There coming out with a plus size store in the Galleria Mall soon), Ross, consignments shops, etc. I am coming into my own as a young woman and I wear what makes me feel comfortable and what shows my figure. I believe that we should be proud of our bodies and love and embrace what we was born with. But I also feel that there is a fine line between showing what you got and leaving some things left to the imagination. Yes, I do feel as though we can wear what we want but I feel that we don't have to show all what we are working with. Who are you dressing up for, is it yourself or for other people? Is it for attention, validation? Many of the reality shows that are on today, the women on there are wearing outfits that are way to revealing and to be honest some those "outfits" aren't even that cute! (lol) But by watching these shows, it may make you feel that you have to conform into the norms of society in order to fit in and to be accepted into what the world thinks is beautiful.

As young women, we must not follow what the world thinks what is in or what is out. We have to follow what God says. Having a pretty face and a nice body isn't what makes is beautiful. It is what's on the inside that counts. Being humble, kind, generous, having a pure heart that is what God is looking for us to have and he knows we have it because he has instilled that within us. We must know that we weren't born to fit in but God made us to stand out. Hey, I know I'm weird, quirky, accident prone, and a whole bunch of other stuff and I embrace it and I wouldn't change it! (lol) But we have to take notice that what we put out is what we get back. We don't have to dress or act a certain way in order for people or some guy to like and take notice of us. Some times as women, we may feel that we have to dumb ourselves down in order for people to notice us. Beauty may be dangerous but intelligence is lethal! If they can't like you for you then they aren't meant to be in your life. Plus, what we have should only be seen for our future husband not for all the world to see. Along, this journey with God, we have to find ourselves and get to know who we truly are and not look to the world to know our worth.

In The Mist Of It All I Give God Praise

Good Afternoon,

Just have to say that God has been so good to me! I thank him every day for giving me another chance. I know that I fall short but I thank him for showing me favor. I thank him not only in the good times but in the not so good times as well. Without him I am nothing. I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for God. I can't thank him enough. I thank him for all the blessings that he has bestowed upon me and I thank him in advance for the blessings and opportunities that are to come. I thank him for it all the good and the bad. I understand now that I can't just give him praise when things are going good. But I have to praise my way through my darkest times as well. I have learn that everything that I go through, I am growing and evolving into the person and woman that he knows that I am meant to be. Change is painful but it is an essential part of our lives and we must learn to embrace it. How can we grow and develop a closer relationship with God if we are constantly holding on to things or people that he is telling us to let go of. I have learn that everyone and everything is not meant to go on with you wherever God is taking you. Yes, this can be difficult and I have struggled with this but God knows what is best for me better than anyone else. If I say I trust him then why I am worrying and stressing over things. This journey that I have been on with him especially within these last few years, has taught me so much not only about others but myself as well. I know that it can only get better from here. But I have to continue to kill off my flesh and wanting this of this world and be led by the spirit. I don't know what God has in store for me but I know he will do just what he said he will do. I thank and love my heavenly father, Amen

Girl, You Know I Love You

Good Morning,

To be loved, Oh what a feeling?!!!! Love, that four letter word that could have you sitting on cloud nine and thinking its just you and your man against the world. Love, that four letter word that could also have you feeling brokenhearted, hurt, and unwanted. People always say that LOVE will make you do crazy things! But what exactly is LOVE? When people say I LOVE YOU are they really meaning what they say or are they just saying it because its what you WANT to HEAR? There is a difference between being "in love" and loving someone. Can you really love someone without being in love with them?

We all go through the "in love" phase in relationships were we have that feeling of being on cloud nine and were we'll do anything and everything we can do make the other person happy. But our actions are based on emotions. Being "in love" is based on emotions and having that cloud nine feeling when we meet someone that we are attracted to. Being in love can have you on an emotional high, it can have you limiting yourself in getting to know that person, and it can also have you thinking that the person your with is perfect. But how can we truly LOVE someone if we are blinded by what we want to see.

LOVE in its simplest form, is a pure choice we make to love someone in spite of their imperfections, flaws, insecurities, etc. without letting our emotions mislead us. When two people love each other, they are looking to grow to create something that is much greater than themselves. Love requires hard work, effort, consistency, discipline, time. We all have a need for love and to be genuinely and unconditionally loved by one another. But we must look to God as our source of love before we look elsewhere. God is love. HE is the one that loves unconditionally, HE is the one that accepts us for who we are, HE is the one that will be there will things are falling apart, HE is the one that will never leave, HE is the one that will never break your heart but will heal what is broken, He is our provider, protector, leader, confidant, HE IS OUR EVERYTHING!!!!

We all have that desire to be loved and wanted by that guy that we like or have a crush on. But God loves us and he wants us to have a REAL AUTHENTIC RELATIONSHIP with HIM FIRST!  When we get to know God and experience his presence everything else will fall into place. Also, SELF-LOVE is important. We must get to know ourselves and LOVE what God created. I struggled with that in accepting myself and loving myself and not being ashamed of what God created. He created a work of art and how dare I be embarrassed with what he made. We must embrace and love ourselves first and foremost. How can you possibly love someone and not love YOU first!

Be Blessed

To For Give or Not To Forgive

Good Morning,

I wanted to write another post yesterday but I had to contain myself and wait until today lol. The feeling that I got yesterday concerning what I am posting about was overwhelming but something that I feel that we all struggle with and that it is the topic of forgiveness. We all have been hurt by the words or actions of others whether it be family members, friends, co-workers, etc. The action or words that have been used against us can hurt us so deeply that we harbor these emotions within us for years. By keeping these emotions bottled up we become bitter, angry, resentful, and even revengeful. While the other person(s) that hurt us have just gone on about their business like nothing happen. You may be thinking that not forgiving the person(s) that have done you wrong is hurting them but in actuality it is really hurting you. Forgiving someone does not erase the damage that was done but it allows you the right to break free and not be a prisoner of what was done to you.

You could say that you could never be able to forgive those that hurt you or caused you so much pain and despair. But someone once told me, that if God was and is able to forgive me for my wrong doings, how can I go around and not forgive others. Now, again forgiving others does not mean that you are minimizing or justifying the wrong but being able to have the attitude of forgiveness brings a peace that will help you go on with life. Nothing can compare to having that feeling of joy and peace within yourself and in your life. I wouldn't be able to sit here and write about anything if I wasn't able to forgive those who have hurt me. It's not about them it is about me and being able to move forward and onward with my life no matter what. I don't want to be THAT GIRL, who harbors bitterness, anger, and resentment. I'm striving to become better and to become the woman that God knows that I can be.

It is important that we forgive others but also ourselves. You can't keep beating yourself up about things that God has already forgiven you for. I had this problem because I would ask for his forgiveness but I kept beating myself up about things. But I had to learn to truly let go and let God. Yes, he may not like the things we do but he won't love us any more or any less than he already does. No one will love us like God loves us. Forgiveness is an attitude that we have to learn how to embrace and genuinely learn how to forgive others but also ourselves.

Mark 11:25

"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. "

Daniel 9:9

"The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him."

Your Time Is Coming

Good Morning,

You ever just sit back and think when it will be your time. When will it be my time to be in a relationship, my time to get that raise or promotion, my time to shine so to speak. I feel that we all suffer from the feelings of wanting God to bless us when we think we are ready for something/someone but he is not ready for us to have it just yet. That saying of "patience is a virtue" is true. The meaning of this saying is to have the ability to wait for something without getting angry or upset is a valuable quality in a person. So why is that we are always in a rush to get things whether its a job, finances, a relationship, etc. and be upset with God when these things don't happen when we want them to. I can admit that I have gotten upset with God about things that I wanted and thought that were best for me. So instead of just waiting, I totally went into a different direction instead of staying in that lane with God. I was impatient and I did not think to consider the thought of what if what I want isn't what God wanted for me because he has something better.

It is important that we take the time to pray or talk with God about the desires of our hearts. When praying to God, I ask him that he continues to order my steps in the way HE wants me to go and that my plans and his plans come together but let my mind and heart be open to embrace his plans for he knows what's best for me. He knows our desires but we have to let go of the I want it now mentality. Have you ever prayed and God gave you exactly what you wanted because you thought you were ready for it and it turn out that you really wasn't prepared to handle it! We get what we prayed to God about and then turn around and start complaining about it. There are times that God will give you want you WANT to show you that it is not something you NEED!

Our time is coming we just have to be patient! You can't say in one breath that you trust, believe, and have faith in God and then in the next breath start worrying/complaining about when will it be my time. I was one of those people that did just that and that got me nowhere. We have to put our faith into action and watch God work. Every thing we go through on this journey is leading us to our purpose in life. Every thing we go through is just building blocks to what is already ours. What God has for you is just for YOU!!! No one can take or block what is already predestined for you!!!

Welcome to FIX YOUR CROWN

Hello All,

Welcome to FIX YOUR CROWN!!!! I am so excited to begin this new adventure and ready to break out of my comfort zone and step out on FAITH! I want to use this blog as a platform to share my testimony in a way that will be a blessing to others. I hope to connect with young women who are discovering themselves as they walk this journey with God. We all face adversity some how and in some way but as I have found, it is important to have a support system during these trying and difficult times. It is important to connect and fellowship with one another and build one another up.

I created this blog to share my truths and trials and tribulations and to connect with young women to let them know that you are not alone. I wanted to share my journey because I too struggle with feelings of being enough and trying to find my purpose in this life. I know I was created for a reason but what is that reason and how will I know. Sometimes, it is hard to want to put a smile on your face and go about like everything is okay. I have learned that it is okay to say that " I am not okay" and not feel ashamed about it. I pray that God will use me as a vessel to be of courage to you even if it is just one.

I created this blog so that we as young women can have a place to share our thoughts and feelings as we walk this walk with God. It is important to be truthful with ourselves and others but in a loving manner. Getting and growing closer to God is what I am reaching for and I pray that we all  obtain that NO ONE CAN COME BETWEEN ME AND MY GOD RELATIONSHIP! We are daughters of the Most High God. We were created in his image and likeness. He loves us just enough and he will never leave us nor forsake us.

You are the Daughter Of The King so FIX YOUR CROWN
